What's Drywall Construction?

Drywall construction is carried out in separate stages: applying plasterboards with special screws or nails to framings of walls or ceilings, and then strengthening plasterboard joints and butts with special jointing materials and tools. This provides highly airtight indoor spaces and assures to improve variety of performances required for buildings.

The drywall construction enables to carry out the joint treatment of Tiger Board rationally and accurately, which is essential for Tiger Dry Wall Construction.

The Purpose of Joint Treatment

For reinforcing plasterboard joints
For reducing sound transmission and blocking fire

1: Joint Treatment using Tiger Joint Tape (Special paper tape)

The most recommended method suitable for paint finishes. Jointing is carried out as the drawing below indicates.

Tiger Joint Tape is suitable for use as reinforcing tapes and Tiger Joint Cement is suitable for use as joint compounds. However, choose appropriate jointing materials depending on the intended use

Notes

Apply sufficient amount of Tiger Joint Cement when applying Tiger Joint Tape manually.
Good adhesion between Tiger Joint Cement (Joint compound) and Tiger Joint Tape can not be obtained if sufficient Tiger Joint Cement (Joint compound) is not applied under Tiger Joint Tape. This causes peeling or floating of the tape.

2. Joint Treatment using Tiger G-Fibre Tape (Glass Fibre Tape)

The commonly-used method suitable for wallpaper decoration The jointing is carried out as the drawing below indicates.

Tiger G-Fibre Tape is suitable for use as reinforcing tapes and Tiger Joint Cement or Light Putty is suitable for use as joint compounds. However, choose appropriate jointing materials depending on the intended use.
